The IISc Mathematics Initiative (IMI),
Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore will be organizing
a workshop from July 04 - 15, 2005. The main theme of the
workshop will be "Scientific Computation, Numerical Analysis
and Applications (with special reference to numerical Simulation,
Control, Noise Modeling and Optimization of systems governed
by Hyperbolic Partial Differential Equations and Differential
- Algebraic Equations)".
Approximately 40 lectures will be given in
this workshop. Some lectures will cover the basic necessary
material to understand the main lectures on scientific computation
and on basic theory and computation of hyperbolic equations.
We also propose to provide references and some lectures
notes of all necessary material to prepare the participants
of the theme program, so that they can actively participate
in the conference.
This workshop will have 30 lectures. Some
lectures on scientific computation and rest on more advanced
tropics in the theory and computation of hyperbolic conservation
laws including model equations from areas of applications
concentrating on analysis and computations.
A maximum of 50 applicants from other Institutions
will be selected for participation in the workshop.
Out of this, a maximum of 10 seats will be
reserved for scientists from organizations, which finance
the theme programme.
Students and faculty from IISc who desire
to participate in the theme programme will need to register.
Note: This web page will be modified
continuously with updated information on paper submission
and status, session themes, registration status and other
details. So, please keep checking.
